Join us for BEE A Hero Day on September 26th on 92.5 WBEE and News10NBC for an all-day fundraiser supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, BEE A Hero Day 2025 raised an astounding $134,253, far exceeding our goal of $100,000!
This marks the 38th annual BEE A Hero Day, a beloved tradition that supports Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester (RMHCR), providing free housing, meals, and emotional support for families as their children receive medical care in Rochester.
Each donation helps RMHCR continue to be a lifeline for families facing some of life’s most difficult moments. The funds raised through BEE A Hero Day directly support our 24-room House on Westmoreland Drive, seven-bedroom in-hospital housing at Golisano Children’s Hospital, and family respite spaces at Rochester General, Unity Hospital, and the URMC Mental Health and Wellness Center, allowing families to stay close to their children when it matters most.
This year’s event also celebrated two first-in-the-world pilot programs launched by RMHCR:
House to Home: A mobile unit that brings care, telehealth services, and essential resources to families with medically complex children, the first of its kind among more than 300 Ronald McDonald House chapters worldwide.
Strength from Within: A groundbreaking mental health program offering free, walk-in support to family members staying at the House, helping them navigate the emotional challenges that accompany their child’s medical journey.
Carolyn Birrittella, Senior Vice President of Business Strategy and Philanthropy, shared:
“When families come to us, they are often in crisis. We walk with them along their healthcare journey and help remove barriers in many ways.”

“There are over 200 nonprofits that care for children, but we are the only one whose mission focuses exclusively on supporting the entire family as a unit, and we’re so proud of that.”
