To stay at the Westmoreland Ronald McDonald House, guests must meet the following criteria:

• Guests must have a child (up to age 21) who is receiving medical care at any local healthcare facility.
• We require a photo ID for all guests aged 18 and above staying in the house.
• Guests must be beyond a 12-mile radius from our Westmoreland House. International families are welcome.
• Referrals must be submitted by the patient’s social worker, nurse, surgery scheduler, or another medical professional. We do not accept self-referrals for new or returning guests.
• We have a maximum capacity of six guests per room at the Westmoreland House.
• Guests must not have been exposed to, or presently have, an infectious disease.
• Registered sex offenders are not permitted.
• Ronald McDonald House cannot accommodate guests with convictions of child abuse or domestic violence, or those currently under investigation for such cases.
• A referral doesn’t guarantee eligibility or a room at Ronald McDonald House. Please call (585) 442-5437, to confirm your stay.

To stay at Ronald McDonald House Within The Hospital, guests must meet the following criteria:

• Guests must have a child (up to age 21) admitted at URMC to stay at House Within The Hospital.
• We require a photo ID for all guests aged 18 and above staying in the house.
• Referrals must be submitted by the patient’s social worker, nurse, surgery scheduler, or another medical professional. We do not accept self-referrals for new or returning guests.
• The House Within The Hospital accommodates two guests per room.
• Those under 18 are not permitted at House within the Hospital.
• Guests must not have been exposed to, or presently have, an infectious disease.
• Registered sex offenders are not permitted.
• Ronald McDonald House cannot accommodate guests with convictions of child abuse or domestic violence, or those currently under investigation for such cases.

• Visitation hours for Westmoreland House are from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, with a maximum of four visitors.
• Visitation at House Within The Hospital is from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and is restricted to guests aged 18 and above.
• All guests must sign in and out at each visit.

You don’t have to stay overnight to benefit from our services. We have multiple respite spaces for you to take advantage of:
